East side has some great spots too. Less crowded than 6th

Totally agree with you on that. 6th Street's definitely the go-to if you want that classic "loud, crowded, and chaotic" energy. You've got everything from roof-top bars to sticky-floored dives, and the live music spilling out of every door is just insane on weekend nights. It's a full-sensory experience, for better or worse. Definitely more of a party-hard atmosphere, so if you're in the mood for that big night out where you can bar-hop without walking more than a block, it's perfect.

But honestly, Rainey Street is my personal preference these days. It's just so much more laid back. Those converted bungalows turned into bars give it such a unique vibe—there's something about drinking on a porch that just hits different. You can actually hold a conversation without screaming over the music, which is a nice change of pace. Plus, the whole street feels more like a neighborhood block party than a club scene. The food truck situation over there is killer too, so you can grab a bite without leaving the strip.

I usually end up starting on Rainey for some drinks and chill time, then eventually head over to 6th if the group wants to turn it up a notch later. Both areas have their place depending on what kind of night you're trying to have. Have you ever spent any time on West 6th? That's like the middle ground—trendier spots with a little more room to breathe than Dirty 6th, but still plenty of energy. I'm curious what your go-to move is when the crew can't decide.

Dirty 6th is fun on weekends. Go early before the lines
