Spring break destination recommendations
Honestly, I feel like you've nailed it with that comparison. Florida is absolutely the "safe bet" — you know exactly what you're getting with places like Panama City Beach or Daytona. It's convenient if you're driving, no passport needed. Plus there's a ton of cheap-ish motels and condos that have been doing the spring break thing for decades. The crowds can get wild, but in a predictable, American party vibe kinda way.
Cancun though? That's a whole different level. If you can scrape together the cash for flights and an all-inclusive, it's honestly unbeatable. The water is that unreal turquoise you see in photos, the clubs are massive — the whole hotel zone is basically built for spring break tourism. And you get the added bonus of being able to take a day trip to Chichen Itza or swim in a cenote if you want a break from the party. Just gotta watch yourself with the taxis and the timeshare guys — they're relentless. And obvs make sure you're staying in the Hotel Zone, not downtown.
Weather-wise, March is perfect for both spots. Florida can still have random cold snaps, but Cancun is pretty much guaranteed 80s and sunny. If you're on a tight budget and splitting gas with people, Florida wins. But if you can swing the extra cost, Cancun is just a more memorable experience, IMO. Either way, just book early — prices jump like crazy after New Year's.
Nashville has become a serious spring break destination. Nightlife is excellent there.

Spring break planning time. Looking for destination ideas that have solid nightlife scenes. Florida is the default but curious if anyone has had great experiences elsewhere.
