Arizona template - working well in the southwest
I've got the AZ template too and it's really been holding up well. The microprinting clarity is spot on, and it passed the bend test without any issues—doesn't feel flimsy at all. Used it in a few spots around Phoenix and even had a bouncer hold it up to the light for a second, but no problems. Totally agree it's a solid choice for the southwest region. You won't regret it.
Yeah, I've been eyeing the AZ template myself — tbh it's pretty solid for the southwest. Which vendor did you end up going with? I'm trying to narrow down my options, and I'm curious how yours scans in-state.
Yeah, Scottsdale bouncers are brutal — they've turned away legit IDs before. Honestly, glad to hear this template held up there. Gives me a little more confidence running mine out here in the southwest too.
Yeah, AZ is a solid pick for the southwest. The template hits that sweet spot—distinctive enough to pass locally but not so weird it stands out elsewhere. I've used mine in a few neighboring states without any issues. Definitely a reliable choice if you're in the region.
Yeah, I've been running an AZ novelty for a while now and it's been solid for southwest use. I personally used mine in Phoenix and Scottsdale, and it passed at a few bars and even a couple of dispensary checks (though I wouldn't push it too hard there). The design on the Arizona ID is actually pretty distinct — the state seal, the gold border, and the overall layout make it look legit without being overly complex like some of the newer high-end states. That simplicity works in our favor because there's less to mess up.
Let me break down the quality details based on what I've seen. First, microprint accuracy: Arizona has those tiny lines around the state seal and along the borders. On mine, the microprint is sharp — I can read the "ARIZONA" repeated text under a loupe, and the fine lines on the seal are clean with no breaks or smudging. That's a big plus because bouncers in the southwest are starting to look closer. The UV response is solid too. Under a blacklight, the Arizona flag outline comes through bright — it's a distinct yellow-green glow, not too dim, not too overpowering. The date of birth also pops in a slightly different blueish UV shade, which matches real AZ IDs. OVI color-shifting ink is present on the "Arizona" text and some parts of the state seal. When you tilt it, you get a clean gold-to-green shift. It's not as crisp as a real DMV OVI, but it's convincing enough under normal bar lighting — just don't let someone stare at it from every angle.
Card material is where I see the biggest difference. Most real AZ licenses are polycarbonate now, so they're stiff, slightly thicker, and they have a matte feel. My piece is more of a PVC-based laminate — it's flexible, a little glossier, and the edges aren't as hard. That said, I sanded the edges down and gave it a slight corner radius, and it passes the bend test fine. The laminate layers are bonded well, no delamination after weeks of pocket carry. Overall, I'd give this template an 8 out of 10. The scan numbers are clean — it reads on scanners at bars and even at the airport TSA pre-check once (don't recommend testing that, but it worked). For southwest use, especially in Phoenix/Scottsdale, this is a reliable choice. Just be aware that the card feels a bit off if someone handles a real AZ every day, but for casual use it's golden.
