Living in Georgia and cant decide between TX or FL. Both are nearby states so either would make sense.

Which one has the better template right now?

So I finally got around to writing up a proper review for my California ID. The title pretty much says it all — I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for something that works well out of state. I've been using mine down here in Atlanta for a few months now, and honestly? No problems at all. I also have a Texas one I've used in the same spots, and either works fine, but since the title says California I'll just focus on that one.

Microprint Accuracy
The microprint on this CA ID is solid. Like, under a loupe the tiny text along the top borders and around the ghost image is crisp — I can clearly read the "STATE OF CALIFORNIA" repeated lines without any blurring or breaks. The fine line patterns behind the portrait are well-defined too, no weird merging or spacing issues. Compared to some other states I've seen, the microprint here is on point. Oh, and just be aware that if you run your finger over it you can feel the raised text on the birthdate and issue date — that's actually a good thing for realism.

UV Light Response
Under a standard blacklight the California ID pops really nicely. The state outline in the background lights up a bright, almost neon yellow-green — not too dull, not too overpowering. The small "CA" overlays scattered around also glow with good intensity. Color is consistent across the whole card, no patchy areas. One thing I noticed is that the UV stays bright for a few seconds after you cut the light, which is pretty typical for real DMV cards in my experience. It's not too "hot" that it looks fake, and not so dim that you can't see it.

OVI Color-Shifting Quality
The OVI on the California state seal and the back's star pattern shifts pretty cleanly from copper to green when you tilt it. The shift is smooth and has that metallic, reflective sheen you'd expect. I've handled real CA IDs that have a slightly more defined color change, but this one gets pretty close — the transition angle feels about right. Under direct light you can see the color rolling across the seal as you tilt, not just a flat switch. That's a detail a lot of fakes botch, but here it works well.

Card Material Feel
The card itself has a good weight — feels pretty close to the real polycarbonate blend used by most states now. It's not too bendy, not too rigid. The surface texture is slightly matte with a subtle gloss on the front. The lamination edges are clean, no peeling or bubbles. When I hand it to someone, it passes the "flex test" without feeling flimsy. The corners are cut nicely, not too sharp. Honestly, the tactile feel is one of the strongest points on this ID.

Overall Score: 8.5/10
It's not perfect — the microprint could be a hair finer in a couple spots, and the OVI color shift isn't 100% identical to a brand new CA license, but for everyday use it holds up fine. I've used it at bars, convenience stores, and even a couple of package store checks in Atlanta. No one has given it a second look. If you're deciding between a California or a Texas for your next go-to, I'd say either works honestly, but this CA card has been my daily driver and I've had zero issues so far.
