Check KingOfFakes Massachusetts template

This is my review of the Massachusetts template from KingOfFakes. I received the package last week and spent some time evaluating the overall color balance and the optical shifting elements. The first thing I noticed is the background print quality, which has a clean pastel transition.

Massachusetts Color and Lamination

The light blue and green tones on this card are not overly saturated. Many vendors make the background colors too dark, which makes the text hard to read. KingOfFakes got the color register correct on this run. The lamination is flat and rigid, and it does not show any bubbles or edge peeling when you try to flex the card. The card bends slightly and snaps back into place immediately. The background line pattern around the state seal is perfectly clear.

Holographic Layer Shift

When you tilt the card under a desk lamp, the state outline hologram shifts smoothly. The color transition goes from a golden tone to green without looking dull or faded. The OVD element sits flush across the photo zone with no visible offset between the overlay and the printed layer beneath. The tactile signatures are slightly raised, though I feel they could be a tiny bit sharper on the edges. The barcode on the back scanned fine on my tests. I ran the barcode test on three separate scanner brands.

  • Verify the background pastel colors are soft and light.
  • Check the lamination edges for peeling or separation.
  • Test the optical shift of the hologram under titled lighting.

Transit took about a week and a half from order confirmation. The card arrived sandwiched between stiff inserts — no flex damage. The card thickness is standard, and it fits nicely into a credit card slot without sticking. The microprint lines are present, though you need good lighting to read them. I will update this thread if I notice any fading after a month of storage.
