Oklahoma ID hologram and security features
Honestly the one thing I always check first is the tactile feel. Real OK IDs have that slightly raised texture on the state seal, and the microprinting clarity around the border is a dead giveaway if it's mushy. Did a bend test on mine and zero cracking, which is a good sign.

Oklahoma driver's licenses went through a significant redesign in 2020 that added new security features. Most vendor reviews I found online are pre-redesign. Here are my notes on the current design.
Visual design
The current Oklahoma license uses a landscape format with the state outline as a prominent design element. The background incorporates a fine-line pattern referencing Oklahoma landscapes. The state seal appears in the standard location for Oklahoma, lower left of the card face. The overall color scheme is blue and gold with a white photo zone.
Holographic overlay
The hologram on current Oklahoma licenses is a full-card overlay covering the entire face. The design incorporates the Oklahoma state bird (scissor-tailed flycatcher) as the primary holographic element, with the word "OKLAHOMA" repeating in smaller text throughout the overlay. Color shift under tilt goes from a golden-yellow to green-blue, which is consistent with the state's color scheme. The transition is moderately sharp — cleaner than some state overlays but not the crispest I have seen.
UV features
Under 365nm UV, Oklahoma licenses show a background pattern that includes the state seal in UV-reactive ink. A second UV feature appears in the photo zone — a faint pattern overlay that is visible under UV but invisible under normal light. Both features are present on the vendor card I examined, though the UV density was slightly lower than on the genuine card, which made them appear less vivid under the same light source.
Barcode
Oklahoma uses the standard AAMVA PDF417 format. The barcode location is standard back-of-card positioning. No unusual encoding — the standard AAMVA fields apply.
For vendors claiming current Oklahoma templates, the scissor-tailed flycatcher holographic element is the most distinctive feature to ask about specifically. Its rendering quality is a good indicator of template accuracy for the post-2020 design.
Oklahoma's post-2020 design generation is well documented in online reference sources. Comparing a vendor's sample against a verified reference photo of the current generation before ordering confirms whether the vendor's template is current. The metallic band element quality is the single most diagnostic check for this state — vendors whose metallic band rendering matches the genuine color shift and gradient are producing against the current template specification.
