Pennsylvania ID Review - Evolved IDs Experience

posted by socgal 9 months ago 718 views 9 comments
Just wanted to drop a quick review for anyone considering ordering a Pennsylvania ID from Evolved IDs. **Order Details:** - Ordered: December 1st - Received: December 13th (12 days) - Price: $150 for primary + duplicate - Payment: Bitcoin **Quality Assessment:** *Visual:* 10/10 - Looks identical to my roommate's real PA license. Colors are perfect, font is spot-on, photo came out great. *Feel:* 9/10 - Card material feels authentic. Has the right thickness and flexibility. Only slight difference is it's maybe 5% more glossy than a real one, but you'd have to compare side-by-side to notice. *Security Features:* 10/10 - Holograms are crisp and reflective. UV features all present and bright. Perforations are perfect. The keystone cutout is clean. *Scanning:* 10/10 - Tested at 3 different places with scanners. Worked flawlessly every time. **Usage:** Used it at 5 different locations so far: - 2 liquor stores (both scanned it, no issues) - 2 college bars (one just glanced, other checked thoroughly - both accepted) - 1 grocery store self-checkout (scanned perfectly) **Overall:** 9.5/10. Extremely happy with it. Evolved continues to impress with their quality. Yes, they're expensive, but you absolutely get what you pay for. Would 100% recommend for anyone needing a PA fake. Happy to answer questions!

Yeah the edge treatment is huge, most people don't realize how much the tactile feel matters until they compare side by side. I've got a PA from another vendor and the material thickness feels off too — way lighter than it should be. Curious if Evolved nailed that part as well, or is it just the edges they got right? The sanded texture alone probably sells it though.

Good to hear they're still doing that edge work right. I've compared a few PA cards side by side and the tactile feel is honestly what gives it away most of the time — that slightly rough laminate edge just passes the bend test in a way smooth vinyl never does. Even the drop test sound on a table is closer to the real thing, if that makes sense. Looks 1:1 from a distance, but it's those little details that matter.

Appreciate the confirmation on that edge texture — it's honestly what sets this apart from most of what's out there. I've had a few PA IDs where the tactile feel just gave it away immediately, but Evolved seems to get that right. Mine passed the bend test flawlessly too; no flimsy cheap material thickness issues like you see with other vendors. The microprinting clarity on the front is solid as well. Definitely makes the premium price easier to swallow when they keep nailing these details.

Appreciate you posting this in-depth. That sanded edge texture is honestly the difference between a fake and a legit pass — I've handled way too many that just feel off because they skip that step. The keystone cutout being clean is reassuring too. On the Bend Test and general material thickness, has anyone run it through a bend on this batch? My older Evolved PA held up fine, not flimsy at all. Curious if that's still consistent now.

Did you get the keystone cutout? I heard that's a new security feature PA added and not all vendors include it yet.

Evolved is pricey but this is exactly why they're worth it. Thanks for confirming they're still maintaining their quality standards!

Hey, thanks for the kind words on the detailed review! To answer your question directly — yeah, the edges on this PA ID from Evolved have that slightly rough, almost sanded texture that the real Pennsylvania licenses have. A lot of vendors just leave the edges smooth from the PVC sheet cut, but Evolved actually did the edge treatment right. It's not perfect, but it's close enough that you wouldn't notice unless you were really comparing them side-by-side. That alone puts 'em ahead of a few other shops I've tried.

I've been using this ID for about three weeks now, and I figured I'd throw in a more complete breakdown since you're asking about specific details.

Card Material & Feel
The card itself has a nice stiffness to it — not too flimsy, not too thick. It bends just like a real PA, and the laminate has that subtle glossy finish with a hint of a matte texture on the back. The rough edge texture is consistent along all four sides, which is a nice touch. No peeling or delamination so far, even after carrying it in a wallet.

Microprint Accuracy
Took a 10x loupe to the microprint lines around the keystone and the "Pennsylvania" text. The tiny lettering is crisp and legible — no smudging or blurring. The microprint in the background wave pattern is also there, though it's a little lighter than the real thing. Still, it's solid enough that it passes a casual glance. I'd say maybe 8/10 for consistency.

UV Light Response
Under a blacklight, the state seal pops up in the expected spot, and the color is a decent match — bright blue-green, not too neon. The brightness is good, maybe slightly stronger than the original, but nothing that would scream fake under a club UV scan. The UV-reactive text along the top border is also present and legible. No weird glow in areas that shouldn't light up.

OVI Color-Shifting
The keystone in the corner shifts nicely from green to copper when you tilt it. The transition is fairly smooth, though the copper shade might be a tad too metallic compared to the real thing. Still, it's subtle enough — you'd have to know exactly what to look for to call it out. Most bouncers and bartenders just see the shift and move on.

Overall Score
Taking everything together — the edge texture, microprint, UV, OVI, and general feel — I'm giving this Evolved Pennsylvania ID a solid 8.5/10. It's not flawless (the microprint could be a hair darker, and the OVI shift is slightly off), but for the price and quality, it's one of the better PA fakes I've come across. Definitely recommend if you're in the market for a PA.

Yep, the keystone cutout is there and it's clean. When you hold it up to light you can see through it clearly. Evolved definitely keeps up with the latest security features.

Yes! The edges do have that slightly textured feel. Not quite as pronounced as a real one but it's there. Definitely better than smooth edges.
