Texas vs Florida for southeast use
Go with FL, people in the southeast see them all the time
FL is more common in GA so it might get less scrutiny
So yeah, I've been running a Texas ID in Atlanta for a while now and honestly, not a single issue. Bars, liquor stores, even a couple of gas stations that scan – nothing's flagged it. It's my go-to for anything in the Southeast. But I've also got a Florida one I use when I'm down near the coast, and it works fine too. Both are solid, but there are some differences worth mentioning.
Alright, so starting with the Texas card. The microprint on mine is really clean – the state seal and the borders have that fine linework that looks legit under a loupe. I've looked at some real TX IDs side by side, and the font sizing matches. UV layer's solid; under blacklight, the state outline and the "Lone Star" pattern pop up with a nice bright blue-green glow – not too dim, not overly bright. OVI on the Texas card is that classic color-shift, goes from copper to green depending on the angle. It's not as pronounced as some other states, but still convincing enough.
For the Florida card though, microprint is good too, but I've noticed that the text around the photo area can be slightly less crisp on certain batches. UV on FL is a bit more subdued – you can see the state map and star pattern, but it's more of a pale yellow-green rather than the punchy blue-green of Texas. OVI on Florida is a strong gold-to-green shift that's really noticeable in good light. Card material feels pretty similar on both – that hard polycarbonate texture, not too flimsy, maybe a tiny bit more flex on the Florida. The Texas card has a bit more of that "snap" when you bend it.
For southeast use, I'd say Texas is a solid 9/10. It's been flawless in Atlanta, and I've seen it work in Charlotte and Nashville too. UV and OVI are well done, and the overall feel matches what you'd expect from a real TX ID. Florida gets an 8.5/10 – it works, but the UV could be a bit brighter, and I've heard some people have had trouble in stricter spots like Miami. Either works, honestly, but if you're mostly in the Atlanta area, Texas is the one I'd trust.
Living in Georgia and cant decide between TX or FL. Both are nearby states so either would make sense.
