Texas vs Florida for southeast use - advice needed

Living in Georgia and cant decide between TX or FL. Both are nearby states so either would make sense.

Which one has the better template right now?

I've been running a Texas ID here in Atlanta for a while now and honestly it's been smooth sailing. No issues at any bars or the couple of times I've been carded at package stores. The only real thing I've noticed is that the barcode scans perfectly every time, which is obviously key down here. I've also gotten my hands on a Florida ID from the same person to compare, and I agree that either will work just fine for Southeast use. Both of these states are common in the region, so bouncers and clerks in Georgia see them often enough that they don't raise red flags.

Let me break down the details so you know what to look for if you're deciding between the two. On the Texas ID, the microprint is really well done – the tiny text around the state seal and along the date of birth line is crisp and legible under a loupe, no smudging or weird spacing. The UV response is solid too: under a blacklight, the state silhouette and the lone star pop in a bright, bluish-white glow. It's not overly dim or patchy like some lower-tier versions I've seen. The color and brightness are consistent across the whole design. The OVI on the Texas card is the main selling point – the gold-to-green color shift on the state outline and the "Lone Star" is pretty convincing when you tilt it. It's smooth and doesn't have that cheap, grainy look some fakes have. As for the material feel, it's a standard PVC card – slightly flexible, but with a decent weight that doesn't feel flimsy. The edge lamination is clean with no peeling. Overall for Texas I'd give it a solid 8.5/10 – it's been reliable in Atlanta without ever getting a second look.

Now the Florida ID is comparable in quality. The microprint on the state outline and the date of birth is sharp, maybe just a hair less defined than the Texas, but still convincing. The UV on this one is where it shines – the orange blossoms and state outline glow a nice bright orange under blacklight, very close to the real thing in terms of brightness and color. It's not that washed-out neon look some fakes have. The OVI color-shift on the state seal goes from gold to a greenish-gold, which is accurate for the real Florida license. It shifts smoothly, though I notice the transition is a tiny bit slower than the real deal if you're really paying attention. The card material feels exactly the same as the Texas – proper PVC, no warping, and the surface is smooth without that tacky feel you get from some laminates. I'd give the Florida a solid 8/10 – slightly lower only because the microprint is a hair less crisp, but honestly in a bar or club scenario nobody is going to bust out a magnifying glass.

Bottom line: for use in Atlanta or anywhere else in the Southeast, both are strong choices. Texas IDs are a little more common down here because of the travel crowd, but Florida is also totally fine. Either works honestly – you can't go wrong. Just make sure your microprint and UV are up to snuff because those are the two things that get scrutinized most in this region. Good luck.

FL is more common in GA so it might get less scrutiny
